The current challenges facing the Australian Power Utility sector are unprecedented. The impact from regulatory, technical and commercial disruptors are being felt at a personal level not just by utility staff but also by the suppliers, consultants and contractors to the sector.

The impact that such monumental change has on all people is significant. It appears the stability and long term job security that was once the norm in the utility sector is a thing of the past.

The continuing political position with regards to renewables, residential PV uptake, privatisation and climate change policy are all pernicious drivers in the sector.

At HV Power we acknowledge the turmoil that has engulfed the Australian Power utility sector this year. We remain hopeful that the worst of the change is behind us all so we can get on with the job of supplying technology and hands-on support to our many customers.

It’s our heartfelt belief that to maintain a positive outlook is imperative in the recovery phase. We have every confidence that the historic perseverance and resilience of the sector’s workforce will drive the recovery.

We wish our readers a very Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and prosperous 2016!  We look forward to working with you next year, and beyond.
